OVERVIEW
The Ontel ON-8800 Edge ADM is an ideal space-saving, multi - service cross-connect platform for the migration to multiservice networks and designed to meet low or medium capacity bandwidth service demands in access layer applications.
The Ontel ON-8800 Edge ADM integrates carrier-grade, next-generation SDH functionality and TDM aggregation with advanced, Layer 2 packet-switching features. These features allow service providers to support new broadband services, such as Ethernet Services (E-Line, E-LAN * ), and 3G mobile services, as well as transport-oriented services such as TDM private lines, over a single aggregation multiservice platform.
The Ontel ON-8800 can be configured as a Terminal Multiplexer (TM) or Add/Drop Multiplexer (ADM) with 32xE1, 4xV.35, 4x10/100 Mbps Ethernet or 2xGbE tributary interfaces in any slot and 2 hot-swappable trunk interfaces at STM-1 rate. The Ontel ON-8800 is capable of aggregating Ethernet traffic from 8 remote nodes in a ring in either EoS mode or EoPDH * mode into the central office node to provide Ethernet private LAN over a WAN.
Due to the ultra compact mechanical design (1U height), The Ontel ON-8800 Edge ADM can be easily integrated into other service nodes, such as 2G / 3G mobile base stations, DSLAM, DLC or voice access remote node, etc., to provide a total solution and significantly reduces deployment cost.
